Synchro (level blue and up, ability to swim in the deep end)
Practice times vary by team
At Windermere, we have a strong synchro community! Athletes will be divided up into teams according to age and ability at the beginning of the summer, and the training schedule for each team will vary. Coaches will help the athlete develop skills while building a routine, where they will compete at the ALPS synchro finals.

Because athletes work hard to perfect a single routine for competitions, it is essential that they attend all practices. For the benefit of the athlete, the coach, and the team, we require that athletes do not miss more than two weeks worth of practices. Additionally, planned absences cannot occur during the week leading up to a competition.

All athletes will be required to purchase a team bathing suit. They will fundraise throughout the summer to help cover part of the cost.

Waterpolo (ages 8 and up AND level blue and up)
Monday to Thursday 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Our waterpolo teams range in ability from beginner to seasoned athlete! The coaches will teach athletes the rules and skills required! This is a great place to build friendships and learn teamwork.
Note that our younger swimmers *(i.e. U10) will only practice twice per week.

WAC Gym (ages 7 and up OR on a swim team, held in the soccer field next to the pool)
Monday to Thursday 10:45am - 11:15am
WAC gym is unique to Windermere – we take all our athletes out the field each day to play sports and games of all kinds, no skills required! Come join in the fun every day before swim team!

Junior and Senior Leaders (Junior 11 - 12 years old, senior 13+)
Practice times vary by team
Our leaders program features a way for pre-teens and teens to gain responsibility around the pool, make friends and participate in group activities, on their way to becoming lifeguards one day! They help with various programs as assistants (babysitting, lesson assistants, WAC gym animators) to the lifeguards, and fundraise toward social activities!

Aquafitness (16+, all abilities welcome!)
Monday to Thursday 10:45am - 11:15am
Join our dynamic group of adults who workout in the water and have fun each day!

Bronze Star
Bronze Star is a course developed by the Lifesaving Society (same organization as Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross). Bronze Star is an optional step towards Bronze Medallion and is geared towards 12-year old's (although 11-year old's can take the course too). Participants are required to attend a minimum of 10 hours and are assessed by the instructor. There will be a cost (approximately $30) to register each candidate with the Lifesaving Society following successful completion of the course.

Bronze Medallion / Bronze Cross (minimum age of 13 for bronze medallion, 14 for bronze cross). Extra course and exam fee, approximately $80.
Bronze Med/Cross are the first certifications offered by the lifesaving society. Participants learn first aid and general lifesaving in these courses. These are the first courses taken on the path to becoming a lifeguard!
